What it is

video-shotcraft is an AI agent skill that turns Claude Code or Codex into a motion-design studio for promo, marketing, launch, or demo videos built with Remotion. It ships shot recipe cards, motion previews, Remotion demo implementations, and a complete 36.2-second Ink Press video template. It also includes an SFX/BGM library, a post-delivery browser Motion Workbench, and a JianYing (CapCut CN) project export.

Who it's for

  • Developers using Claude Code or Codex who want an agent to produce product promo or launch videos
  • Makers who want reusable Remotion shot recipes (timing, easing, choreography) for feature demos or brand films
  • Teams who want to keep editing a delivered film in a browser workbench or in JianYing

Requirements

Requirements

  • Claude Code, Codex, or a similar agent that supports skills
  • Remotion (the framework powering the demos and template; has its own license, free for individuals and small teams, companies may need a paid license)
  • Node (workbench is launched with node; headless render notes were tested on Node 22)
  • Your own product screenshots, copy and branding to replace the bundled demonstration assets

Examples

Create a promo for a desktop product

Prompt
prompt
Use video-shotcraft to create a promo for my desktop product.

Request specific shot cards

Prompt
prompt
Use the deck-deal-flyin and row-embed shot cards to present this feature.

Expected output: Names recipe cards picked from the Gallery to build a feature presentation.

Use the Ink Press template

Prompt
prompt
Use video-shotcraft to make a promo for my product with the Ink Press template.

Expected output: The agent swaps in your screenshots, copy and branding in the 36.2s, 1920×1080, 30fps, 10-shot template.

Open the Motion Workbench

bash
bash
node workbench/scripts/open.mjs <project>

What it does: After delivery, opens the browser timeline editor to edit shots, captions and SFX tracks, then export with Remotion.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Pro:Documents headless/CI render workarounds for low-core Linux machines

Cons
